About

Chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS)

Chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) is a recurring or long-lasting condition caused by swelling and inflammation of the prostate gland, a walnut-sized gland located directly below the bladder in men. The prostate gland produces fluid (semen) that nourishes and transports sperm.1

  • Urolo-Q® is well tolerated by most people and side effects are rare.
  • Some patients have reported mild nausea if taken on an empty stomach or slight tingling in the extremities shortly after their first dose.
There is a theoretical risk that the use of quercetin may interfere with the action of quinolone antibiotics therefore you should not take these antibiotics with Urolo-Q®. Consult your physician for more information.
  • Chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) is a recurring or long-lasting condition caused by swelling and inflammation of the prostate gland,2 a walnut-sized gland located directly below the bladder in men, or other parts of a man's lower urinary tract or genital area. Inflammation or irritation of the prostate gland can cause pain and discomfort in the lower pelvic region. This condition is not caused by an infection with bacteria. It’s a common condition: up to 50% of men will experience symptoms at one point during their lives.4

  • Chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) may be caused by a bacterial infection, but in many cases the cause of CP/CPPS is unknown. When CP/CPPS is caused by bacterial infection it can be treated with antibiotics. When the cause is unknown, treatment of the symptoms may be the best course of action.
